About Wendy LeBlanc-Arbuckle

Wendy is an international leader in embodied movement education, with a 40-year background in holistic health and movement arts and sciences, including lifelong studies and collaborations with distinguished pioneers in Pilates, yoga, Structural Integration bodywork, somatic arts and sciences, dynamic breathwork and energy medicine. Her vision has been to illuminate the universal core principles that underlie all great body/mind practices, enabling teachers and practitioners to cultivate their own voice through the brilliant guidance of their “biointelligent” wisdom. Her workshops are a pathway for participants to question, and to discover how to be vitally alive and self-healing, just as Joseph Pilates envisioned in Return to Life.

Wendy has studied with five of the Pilates Elders, beginning with Romana Kryzanowska, then with Kathy Grant, Mary Bowen, Ron Fletcher and Lolita San Miguel. Additionally, her extensive yoga background, along with studies with other body/mind specialists, give her a unique voice and have profoundly influenced the development of her dynamic 3Core Connections® Perspective.

Wendy teaches nationally and internationally, and was a founding member of the Pilates Method Alliance, the Fascial Research Society and the International Association of Structural Integrators. She is a PMA Certified Pilates Teacher, presenter for Pilates Anytime and a mentor for Balanced Body’s Passing the Torch Mentoring Program.

Pilates teachers can earn up to 12 PMA Accredited CEC Hours.

Embodying Your Living Architecture … Through the Portal of the 3Core Connections® Embodied Perspective
6 PMA Accredited CEC Hours
Saturday, May 20, 2017
9:00 am – 4:30 pm (w/ 1-1/2 hour break for lunch)

When we are willing to be curious, we alter how we see, sense, touch and “cue” movement as students and practitioners. We become fascinated with the deep relationships between the phenomena of our natural respiratory rhythm, the embryonic field that guides our self-organizing body, and the innate health that supports our biointelligent organism. This curiosity and awareness influences our human movement patterning, which shapes us and our ability to grow as conscious beings and practitioners. The 3Core Connections® Embodied Perspective empowers us to find our own voice and teaching style. In our willingness to question our point of view, we open to being fully present with what is happening. In this workshop, we will explore moving within the Pilates repertoire through the portal of the 3Core Connections® Embodied Perspective by:

  • Discovering the embodied timing and patterning that supports the awakening of:

– the “Dome of Lower Core” of your feet and legs to pelvic floor/spine
– the “Dome of Central Core” of your pelvic floor, spine/diaphragm to palate/cranium
– the “Dome of Upper Core” of your spine, thoracic inlet/armpits, palate/cranium, hands
– Understanding how they all “root through the girdles” to the “breathing spine”, integrating the whole body in relationship with gravity.

  • Discovering how your breath’s “fascial elastic recoil” works with your lumbodorsal fascial support to create whole body presence, internal strength, flexibility and ease.
  • Discovering the ankles/knees and wrists/elbows as “kinetic centers”, which can amplify or inhibit movement at the upper and lower gravity centers.
  • Discovering a fluid, fascial “biointelligent language” from your unlimited creativity and perceptual awareness by focusing on “what’s working” or “what’s missing”, rather than “what’s right/wrong” – profoundly influencing your approach to teaching and moving in your own practice, and in life.

Journey to the Advanced Pilates Work … Advanced Thinking for a Vital Life
6 PMA Accredited CEC Hours
Sunday, May 21, 2017
9:00 am – 4:30 pm (w/ 1-1/2 hour break for lunch)

Join us in this inspiring, challenging and playful workshop as we demystify the advanced Pilates repertoire, and develop a deeper understanding of the basic to intermediate Pilates movements and how they build to the advanced. Experience how your body’s crystalline fascial matrix can release long held muscular tension patterns, enabling you to discover new approaches to the most challenging movements.

We now know that the network of fascia is not just an organ of support. It is “spatial medicine” that plays a key role in how we organize our biointelligent bodies for movement and adapt to everyday mental and physical stress. It is a storage center for all of the acupuncture meridians that helps regulate our emotions. Discover how this way of being with your personal practice and teaching creates a primal, restorative and embodying approach that brings you into wholeness. In this workshop, we will:

  • Experience how your crystalline fascial matrix supports your muscles and bones in movement, so the most difficult movements become “effort with ease”.
  • Go beyond a biomechanical “core control” abdominal approach to advanced movement to a biointelligent “core coordination” whole body approach.
  • Discover the powerful structural and spatial support of your Upper Core’s center of gravity, which compliments and strengthens the traditional role of the “pelvis as center of gravity”.
  • Discover how yielding to gravity as a partner awakens your natural uplift, and releases tension in your neck, jaw, shoulders, back, hips and joints.
  • Experience a playful approach to the advanced Pilates repertoire through partnering, re-setting your nervous system’s primal connections.
  • Discover a fluid, fascial, relational approach to moving and/or teaching, that influences how you relate to movement and how you move in life.
