PCOR 2021: Start Your Journey

Dear PCOR Community,

I invite you to join me and my team on a journey to a positive, purposeful and proactive new year. Now is the time to set priorities, establish healthy routines, shed destructive patterns and begin to inhabit the physical, mental, and emotional health you desire.

We are committed to helping you do that, starting with a slate of new classes, curated series and workshops based on client feedback and presented by our stellar team of teachers throughout the year.

We’re also excited to announce that we’ve added a recorded offering to the Live Virtual signup for the series and workshop! So, even if you can’t make it to every class as scheduled, you can still join and get the workout or workshop by signing up for the Live Virtual/Recorded option. In addition to receiving links to the live classes, you will also receive a link to a recording of each class a few hours after the class ends. Only the speaker view is recorded, not virtual participants. Each recording will be available to you for 7 days. So, you can workout at your convenience and be up to speed for the next class, whether you can join virtually or not.

Start your journey right now.

In Health and Gratitude,
Aliyah Hatcher

Mondays, January 18 – February 8
11:00 – 11:55 am
Live Virtual/Recorded & In-Studio

Join Adrian Goodfellow for this carefully crafted series that combines ballet-inspired floorwork, balance work and stretching. Floor barre takes the movements that you usually do at the ballet barre onto the floor, allowing you to deeply strengthen your hips, legs, abs, and back muscles, while relieving tension and stress on joints. It improves flexibility, posture, and body alignment and conditions the entire body. Watch this video! Adrian also incorporates standing exercises for balance and stretches to warm-up and open the body. The result is a glorious, well-rounded, and wholesome experience for you body, mind, and spirit.

With 20 years of experience as a professional dancer and extensive knowledge of the body and functional movement as a Pilates teacher, Adrian will be your guide to a more healthful and powerful new year.

Live Virtual/Recorded & In-Studio

Level 1 Reformer + Tower
w/ Rashida

Starting Wednesday, January 20th
6:00 – 6:55 pm

In-Studio

This class is the best of both worlds for beginners on Pilates equipment. It combines the strength-building and stability of the Reformer with the flexibility and flowing movements of the Tower, alternating from week to week between the two pieces of equipment.

The Reformer is the “workhorse” of Pilates equipment, using spring tension, straps and pulleys to strengthen your body from the inside out, building core strength and lean muscles throughout the body.

The Tower uses springs and bars that allow you to move your arms, legs and spine freely in space, conditioning and elongating your muscles and increasing range of motion in your joints.

You will work your body deeply and leave feeling strong, awakened, energized, yet calm.

The Sitting Workshop:
Solutions for a Healthy Body in a Seated World
w/ Beth

Sunday, January 31st
2:00 – 4:00 pm
Live Virtual/Recorded & In-Studio

People are finally recognizing that prolonged sitting is very hazardous to your health. In addition to the physical pain it causes, research shows that excessive sitting causes chemical changes in your body that put you at greater risk for cancer and diabetes and makes you twice as likely to get heart disease. It can increase the risk of premature death by 10 – 20%. And prolonged standing is no better.

Right now, during the pandemic, we are all sitting more than ever. Well, what can you do about it? You can’t “quit” sitting like you can quit smoking.

In this workshop, Beth Davis combines her 20 years of experience as a licensed massage therapist and movement specialist to give you an arsenal of routines to insert into your daily sitting to interrupt the cycle. You will explore exercises, stretches and self-massage to strengthen and release tension – like a balm for your body. You will also learn how to sit supported in a chair and on the floor with variations. Take home new ideas and fun ways break up this destructive pattern, and enjoy greater health and vitality. Watch this video!
