People are finally recognizing that prolonged sitting is very hazardous to your health. In addition to the physical pain it causes, research shows that excessive sitting causes chemical changes in your body that put you at greater risk for cancer and diabetes and makes you twice as likely to get heart disease. It can increase the risk of premature death by 10 – 20%. And prolonged standing is no better.

Right now, during the pandemic, we are all sitting more than ever. Well, what can you do about it? You can’t “quit” sitting like you can quit smoking.

In this workshop, Beth Davis combines her 20 years of experience as a licensed massage therapist and movement specialist to give you an arsenal of routines to insert into your day to interrupt the destructive cycle of sitting. You will explore exercises, stretches and self-massage to strengthen and release tension – like a balm for your body. You will also learn how to sit supported in a chair and on the floor with variations. Take home new ideas and fun ways break up this harmful pattern, and enjoy greater health and vitality.

Even if you can’t make it to the workshop as scheduled, you can still get access to the workshop by signing up for the Live Virtual/Recorded option. In addition to receiving a link to join the live workshop, you will also receive a link to a recording of the workshop a few hours after it ends. Only the speaker view is recorded, not virtual participants. The recording will be available to you for 7 days. So, you can watch and participate at your convenience, whether you can join us virtually or not.
